My Massey Harris Service Data book says wet sleeve .004 above block. The minimum is .0015 above block.

I have never rebuilt an H260. Presumably it is a wet sleeve design. I don"t have the specs for a MH but IH specs are very close to your cat specs, so if you had them in that same range would be good. IH says for liner protrusion, liner projection, liner stand out or what ever you call it, for wet sleeves on the A,B,C series of tractors to be 0.003-0.007. I did notice though, IH says that for their dry sleeve engines that the liner Should Be flush BUT may project to a max of 0.006. Hope this helps!

I've never heard the term protrusion. Are you asking how far should the sleeve stick out of the block from the deck? All my 44's are flat with the deck.Eric

I'm looking for the distance that the top of the liners sit above the deck to provide proper head gasket crush at the fire ring area. Thanks for all the quick responses.

Caterpillar engines specify that their liners be positioned .001" to .006" above the deck to provide proper gasket crush at the fire ring area. Is this critical in my H-260?
