I have seen some MF 65s that seem to fit my needs well. Loader, power steering, decent horsepower, nice price. What are the strengths and weaknesses of these models? Engine, mechanicals, etc.

How difficult to get parts?

Thank you for any help you can offer.

I have a 1963 with a Perkins diesel in it and a loader on it. Run great, hardly uses any fuel and seems to have enough power for the loader. It actually runs my 7 1/2 foot flail mower better than my International 544 gas. I have had no trouble finding parts when I need them and like any piece of machinery, I hate paying for those parts.

i am a john deere man at heart. but sveral years ago i ran across a 1959 mf65 high clearance. used it to brush hog around the farm. loved the tractor as handy as a ford but with the high clearance i sit a little higher. helps to keep a little above the dust and debries. always had an oil leak from rear main and a little low oil pressure so last winter i overhauled the engine and resealed, now i consider it like new. love it.

I have a 58 MF65. I consider it the best tractor that I have ever owned. Most parts are readily available. I get a lot of what we need to keep it running at NAPA. Another source of parts is any implement dealer that has a book for one or more companies that make after market parts. Then theres a lot of stuff on this web site. My tractor is a high clearance on 38" tires.

Guess I should have added that mine is 4 cylinder gas contential engine. It is pretty decent on fuel considering the work done. It is the normal 3 speed and reverse, plus high low range. It does not have the multipower on it. Sometimes in winter, it sets 3 or 4 weeks outside in the cold and snow. My boy walks in, hooks up a battery charger for a little while to warm the battery a little, and it will start riight up. We pull 3-14 plow, or 2-16 plow, 10 foot 3-point hitch lift up tamndem disk, 8 foot rear blade and 6 foot brushhogl
