I have found a '63? MF 90 for $3900.00. I have 5 acres I need to keep up. This would be my first tractor. The tractor appears to be in good shape..no smoke, lift works etc. After looking at posted messages, I am a little concerned that should I have to perform repairs, I would have a hard time finding parts. Is this a good first tractor for me, or should I keep on looking for something smaller, easier to work on etc? Thanks in advance for any guidance!!!!!

I recently purchased a MF 90 for use on a 110ac hay operation mainly lg round bales and it works like a charm. But as far as a 5 ac. operation it might be a whole lot more tractor than you need for just mowing, fence repairs, etc.
Does the purchase price include any implements?
You didn't say what state you hail from which may be a factor on price. My MF is a 1962 MF LP which I purchased first part of May for $2750. It has new paint, excellent metal, everything works, and about 50% on rear tires and 75% on the front. There is a picture of my tractor posted in the Photo Gallery. Pic was taken the 2nd day I owned it.
If you do decide to go with the tractor make sure you get parts and service manual. Got mine through the MF dealer. MF now has a Heritage line of parts for older tractors.
Hope this helps.

Thanks to both of you guys for the info.
The price for the 90 does not include any implements. I am from Mississippi-it seems as though for the size tractor, this is an o.k. price. I really want about a Ford 3000 size tractor, but around here a diesel goes for $5,000-$6000. I'm really not sure what to do; I kind of agree that the Super 90 is a lot of tractor for my place, but I should'nt ever lack for power and it is a diesel which I'm told is the way to go (Skippy's good luck with the LP notwithstanding), so I don't know what to do. Anyway, I'm still in the hunt--(I may just give up and get the 90). Again, thanks to both of you for the great info.

Sean

I have a Super 90 that was my Dad's. I spent a lot of time on it growing up. I no longer live in the state I grew up in an we kind of want to sell it. It has a front end loader with a bucket and manure fork. One remote outlet. Rear wheel weights. comes with a 7' heavy duty bushhog. Does anyone have and estimate of its value/ I have an idea.

No, but I would be very interested in buying it and/or any or all of the implements. Please let me know if you still have it all and how much you would want.Especially the loader and the brush hog.

I just got a super 90 diesel in Feb. and have found them to be pretty hard to get parts for. If there is a massey dealer near you you should be in pretty good shape though. I got a parts manuel, and take it to the local NAPA guy and he can cross reference #'s sometimes, and find a lot of parts. As far as problems, I havent found any, and a lot of older guys that have been around them, say they are good old tractors. Lots of power for their size, and if its a diesel, and you dont pull it too hard, you ought to be able to run it forever on a tank of fuel. I like it a lot, use it to plant about 300 acres this spring. I dont guess they're any harder to work on than anything else, you need a owners manuel for it though, that'll help a lot. Email me if you get it, and I'll try to be of some help, if I can.
