Hi Guys,
I just purchased a 1972 era Massey 165 deisel with a MF52 backhoe and MF32 Loader. Two things I can't figure out: #1 - It has dished fenders and a very heavy duty ROPS (all other 165s I've seen have the flat fenders). #2 - The differential lock pedal is not long enough to depress the shaft (looks like a button) on the transaxle. And, even if it were long enough, the pedal bottoms out on the step plate before it would pivet far enough to engage it anyway. What gives?
I appreciate your help.
Matt

Though most model 165 had flat top fenders, the
parts book does show dished fenders so were avail
as the standard fender but most dealers ordered
in with the flat top. Chuck B

That button you are talking about is thread into the Diff lock shaft with a lock nut hold it from turning screwing it out will raise the pedal so you will have enough travel to make the diff lock engage.
