I am looking for a 1954 44RC that was purchased from Monte Lucas about 6 years ago. Monte lived near Kirklin, Indiana and does not remember what the persons name was that purchased the tractor. I used to own it and am living near Terre Haute, Indiana which is where Monte thinks the person was from. I know its a stretch but I would like to locate it. It had what I called a hand clutch to provide a live pto. Char-lyn powersteering. Please post a reply if you think you know some one who has it. thanks Jim

Since you once owned it, are there any old service
documents in some old storage box? Having the S/N
would perhaps help you track it down. 1954 would
make it a 44 Special, since no basic 44's were built after 1953. Good luck.

Harris guy: I wish I had that information. 22 years ago when I sold it to Monte the thought of it being sentimental never entered my 33 year old brain. The book and service record has traveled with it at least to Terre Haute somewhere. As far as it being a special, the man I bought it from purchased it new and said it was not a special even though it was a 54 model. It is something I did not research at the time as I would now. My manuel said a 54 and it had some special features on it but I can't confirm it now. I used it then when I farmed almost every day for livestock work and pulled a six row planter in the early 70's. Very dependable.
