If you have the 4-cylinder 135 then you have the Continental Z-145 engine. As mentioned in another posting the left side of the block near the distributor will have a casting number which will include Z145. The 134 engine was used on the MH/MF50 and the F40 tractors I believe. Tim

Paul on the left side of the block just above the oilpan there should be either a raised z134 or z145 in the casting about 3/4 inch high. There may be a ground down flat spot closer to the oil pan and the z134 or z145 will be had stamped on to the flat spot. These are much smaller and you may need to clean off the area. I have only seen the z145 in the MF135's I checked.

I have an easier way to find out. How many dials on the dash do you have? If you have more than two or three you have a GAS deluxe (if you have a tachometer, water pressure, oil, amperage, etc.) The Deluxe Models typically only came in gas that I know of. I could be wrong but the only diesels I have seen have been the Deluxe versions. You might also have a Perkins 3-cyl. as well if my parts manual is correct I think they did away with the Deluxe/Special models for the most part though you could get an 'Orchard Special'

I would get an owners manual and it has different pictures of what each type looks like. Oh one more thing - if it has Multi-power then its a deluxe as well.
