I have recently purchased a gas operating '68 MF 135. I have been happy with it until a week ago when the throttle stopped working. Moving the throttle lever up and down seems to make no difference. It startes up fine, but no throttle adjustment.

What have I done to my baby?

We had something similar happen on a MF 175 tractor, but it was a diesel. it was just like Donovan said, one of the linkages had come apart. can you get someone to stand near the carburetor while you move the throttle back and forth, just to see if any of the rods are moving (or is it cables on a gas? I am not famliar with the gas model)

More than likely the linkage just came apart someplace. You can go to any automotive store to get the right clip but I suggest knowing the size of the rod (3/16, 1/4" etc...) and then buying both LH and RH style clips, as they seem the same but are completely different. Other wise get a push-not from a hardware store to push onto the linkage rod.

P.S. This is all good unless the engine revs up like crazy, then the governor could be shot.
We've had both happen on our 165.
