I have a 1080 and on an incline I can not shift the trans. out of gear. when on level ground it will shift fine. I have adjusted the clutch already, does anyone have any ideas.

Thanks Curtis

I have a MF240 that had a similar problem. One had to rock the tractor to get it out of gear when on an incline - difficult when you are alone. Had mechanics working on the problem on at least two occasions. The last time they replaced the pilot bearing (which centres trans shaft in the flywheel) - it helped. On a previous occasion some transmission bearings were replaced. Must have something to do with some lateral play on shafts which forces gears together. Not an easy one to fix - probably has to do with general wear.

If you have multipower they will do that in high range if that what is causing it try shift the multipower in to low range to see if it will shift out of gear.

I tried your idea and it still does not shift no matter if it is in low or high range on the multi-power.

Thanks Curtis
