I am working on a M-F 35 and was wandering if this tractor has a pos. or neg. ground system.
Just had the generator rebuilt and don't want to destroy it now!

If it's a 6 V it's probably positive ground.

With a genny you can run it either way as long as you polerize it. But from the factory if was most likely positive ground. Either way when you put it back on you need to polerize it.

I presume you're talking dynamo, not alternator? Most alternators are -ve earth. If dynamo, would expect this to be -ve also, but could be wrong. Doesn't really matter, if you polarise the dynamo (which you should do after a rebuild anyway).
'Flash' the small dynamo terminal with a live from battery for a second is all that's needed.
