I'm new to the old tractor hobby, and just bought a Massey 44. I need new big tires and one big wheel. It has 13.6x38 tires, with 12-38 rims. I cannot find a 12x38 rim listed in any old tractor supply company for a Massey 44, so somebody must have changed wheels/tires at some time. Can somebody please tell me how to find a demountable 12x38 rim for my tractor? Thank you

I think most 44s came with 10/38 wheels with 12/38 tires.Miller Tire can fix you up with either size.Just be sure you measure your old rim right.Their catalog can sometimes steer (pun intended) you wrong.Done done it,ordered a 12" rim and needed a 10" rim.Almost $400 later?Costly mistake.bob

The 9 bolt universal pattern is the same on many
old iron tractors. If you have pressed steel for
centers, you should be able to purchase a new rim
from Miller Tire, of Ohio. They are a sponsor of
this web site, check in the left column. 12" rims
will give you a full bite with 13.6-38 tires. You
might save a few dollars going narrower, but the lug bars stay more rounded, reducing traction. If
you have cast centers, Miller offers new drop center rims, to bolt up to you cast. Good luck.
