does anyone know how to remove the small gear on the generator that runs the tack drive? I't seems to be frozen on the generator. Is it threaded or pressed on?

Should have been threaded on, but early 65's had
a similar Auto-Lite w/drive. Some changes in port,
as an increase in engine RPM's developed a need
for updates. Careful, you are working on prized small parts, near impossible to replace.

I soaked the drive gear with penitrating oil and wraped a rag around it and turned it off with a pliers. Thanks again for the input. That was easy. I went to start it the other day and it backfired through the carb. So I pulled of the valve cover and found a couple of bent push rods, that won't be an eazy fix! Oh well now I've got a reason to take a good look at the engine and clean it up before I paint it.
