I just purchased a MH 102 Sr twin power and don"t know alot about them. What engine is in it? some sources say chrysler and some say continental????
Where can I get a carb kit for the carb (someone told me it is a Zenith carb)??
How many hp is the 102 Sr?
How big of a plow was it designed for?
serial number is 63576
Thanks
Mike

The 102 Sr had a Continental engine. They can be identified by the distributor on top of the cyl head. ( a Chrysler is down on the side) they were rated a 3 plow tractor. Your serial # doesn't compute. I think you are missing a digit.
The 226 engine was used on the gas burners and a 244 on the distillate. The 226 is essentially the same engine as the 203, the 44-6, and the Kiaser / Frazer cars. Jeep also used it in the late 50's.

I got a shop manual yesterday. I went out today and yes it is a continental engine. I was able to clean off the tag on the side of the frame. It says model 102 SS (I assume means senior standard?) and the serial number is 363576. I looked up that number on serveral sources. It fits the 101 senior built in 1946...does that make sense? Why does it say 102 SS on the name tag...?
Where can I get a carberator kit for this Zenith carb??
Thanks
Mike

I think you have a Marvel Schebler TRX-33 or other number after the TRX. If so, I don't believe a kit is available for it. At least I couldn't find one a few years ago when I restored my Senior.

The early 102 Seniors came with the little larger distillate motors, but later the 102 were merely called 102's if they were built for export. So, it's a 101 by tag, and since it was exported, they called it a 102,

Dave, that could be a 101 in disguise....it definitly had the continental engine...and the MF dealer near me showed me a pic of what a Marvel Shebler carb is supposed to look like and the picture was not what my carb looks like...so it must be a Zenith...
How does one rebuild a carb and keep running smoothly with out a kit.?
Right now it runs prettty good, bus tome day may need to rebuild it.

Everyonce in a while the float on the carb gets stuck and gas runs out of the top side of the carb (there is a little hole there) Is it supposed to overflow there if the float gets stuck?

I can just tap the side of the carb and it quits overflowing?
Mike

The carb could have a sticky float, or, more likely, there's just crumbs in the systenm and they get in and stick the needle valve, You can clean the carb up without a kit as long as you don't wreck the gasket (You can make one if your patient).
