If it is stuck up, and wil lnot go down even with tractor off - has it got any weight on it? jump about on the back abit, saw a 165 at a sale with the same problem - with the levers down and a bit of muscle it would fall. Went up perfectly happily. I dont know what the problem was, as i never bought the tractor in the end!

I assume it goes down when the tractor is turned off. If so my 35 had the same problem. Big Dean had the answer. I have not had time to fix mine but in the mean time I found that setting the up limiter bolt on the control to slightly below top allowed the system to work. Try lifting but do not pull the control all the way up. If this works then just set the stop screw a little lower. Contact Big Dean - his address is easy to find here.

Hi,
First of all check if there is any free movement at the top of the lift stroke. Is the linkage jammed tight? Drain approx 1 gallon of oil and remove the RH round side cover. You will see two levers coming down from above engaging against one coming up from below. Operate your controls and the upper levers should push the lower one and allow it to return. If the lower lever is slack then it would appear that the control valve is stuck in the pumping position. This can be due to possibly two or more things. First the valve may have overheated (relief valve blowing continuously) or the oscillatorwhich keeps the valve moving is broken or disconnected.
Please come back if you need more help.
