When I removed the plate that contains the brake drum this was full of grease and gear lub. The shoes are shot, so I need to have them relined, is there supposed to be grease in there? There was a lot of grease in there.

I know for sure my axel seals are leaking, does anyone know where I can get a set of seals for a 41 101JR?

Same seal used on both Junior & Senior. Massey part no. is 14318x. 2.750 x 3.876 x .375. National - Federal Mogal # 415960. Check old seal, I used this seal on my tractors.

Regarding the first part of my question, do the 101JR have "wet" brakes or is the grease in there because the axel seals are leaking.

Thanks for the info about the seals, this will help alot

Should be dry. Check for drain hole.

Take whatever seal you have left after removal, or get a number off it. Or write down the dimensions, ID and OD, take to any bearing and seal distributer, and they'll get the seals for you
