A guy I work with has a father-in-law who has a '68 or '69 MF185. Said it was rebuilt 10 yrs ago and the gentleman immediately got sick so the thing has about 40hrs on it since. I'm interested but I can't find any info anywhere about a MF185, such as HP and PTO, accessories, etc. Help!

I think this guy is trying to scam you.

But on a side note, if you live in the states, you might want to call up Tri-Green Equipment in London, Ohio. Or, alternatively, get a copy of the Kelly/Bluebook for tractors. I've seen MF 185
s before and here in Ohio I've seen a few at that Tri-Greens place.

Hope this helps

I have no real idea. I see what you see on the internet but the price range for the same piece of equipment is quite large. All depends on condition, location and various options/accessories. I"ve found it difficult to compare prices on a 185 since I have found so few. Good luck

185 is a Coventry built tractor, I think you're right that it is 75HP ish. Very good reliable workhorse, there was a 188 which is the 'deluxe' version with a 6" spacer fitted to the gearbox to make it longer, if you don't have this then it is a 185. It was the biggest of the 'red giants' range, and came out later than the rest. In UK it's desirable more as a working tractor than a collector's, because it is too big to move on a trailer, needs a truck.

He"s pretty sure it"s a 185. After I posted I did find reference to a MF185 that"s a 75hp 4 cyl diesel but that"s all the info I could find.
Thanks for the response.
