Does anyone have a repair manual for a 1944 Massey Harris row crop 101 Jr. Particularly how to put the brake drum assembly back together. Some one has taken them off to redo the brakes and all the stuff is in a box includeing a bunch of shims and no gaskets. I don't have a clue how to arrange these pieces. Thanks. Don

Probably a good idea to examine what you have as
parts to install. Though these tractors came with
band brakes, by 1950 Bendix shoe brakes were on
the factory models. MH offered an upgrade kit,for
previous models, complete with pedals, for Bendix
shoe conversion. The band brakes had performed poorly, on 44's, pulling heavy loads, over highways. Approaching a stop sign, on a decline,
with a wagon of grain, would cause the band brakes to heat up, expand, no brakes. Smaller MH's
faired better with light loads. By now, someone
may have swapped out the brakes on your 101.
