Just bought my first full size farm tractor, a Massey Ferguson 135. Where do I look for the serial number ?

If it is an older 135 , the number will be on the right side of the tractor under the air filter . If it is a newer 135 , It will be right in front of your leg , if you were sitting on the tractor (straight down from the steering wheel) .

Is it an older bent axle MF135 with struts or the later straight axle model? May give you an idea of the age.

I see where it looks like a data plate once was...
4 small screw or rivit holes. I guess if that's gone there is no way to date the tractor ? It has the 3 cylinder Perkins gas engine, was it availible in all the year models ? Thanks again Sam

What was the ser number on the engine? I could match it up to my 1969 MF135 Perkins Gas and see how close it is. Mine was "152 UA 2222A" and the original engine. Mark H.
