First, got my starter back for a relatively decent full rebuild price of $86. Not too bad considering it was spitting out sparks!
Well, found out my bogging engine issue after I replaced the old points with a pertronix elec ignition. It turns out that many moons ago my dist was replaced with a delco, was origionally an autolite. Anyhow, when I gave my distributor number I ended up with an ignition for an Oliver something or other. Didn't think much of it since it was made for that distributor. But, the timing is different internally from the points - I think alittle behind. So, in the morning I'll advance things a bit and see if that doesn't clear it up. I thought that there was a spark problem or backfeed so ended up replacing everything electrical on the whole machine. Rebuilt starter, new alternator, new coil, battery, wires, plugs, rotor and cap. Live and learn! (dropped the old points and condensor in tonight as a last ditch effort and it purred like a kitten immediately)

Yup, timing on the pertronix was way off. Adjusted it and it runs like a top! I think this old tractor must have another 50 good years in her...
