I am still confused some what about this 1969 MF135 Orchard Tractor. I know there different than the regular MF135s and MF35 but are they 1/2 MF165s or do they have there own rear assembleys(clutch, transmission, hydraulics, arms, axles, differeials ect)behind the engine? Even the front hubs are heavier on them. Manuals I have on the 135 do not mention the disk brakes, Rear Axle, front axle & power steering assembleys look different ect. I have one manual that shows MF165 tractor parts and they seem to be a lot closer looking but they don't say it is also on the MF135?? Is the Orchard a morfidite or realy 1/2 of a MF165 or MF65? I was looking at a MF65 the other day and the rear assembley looks pretty much the same but the tires were way taller and the engine was a 4 cylinder perkins instead of the 3 cylinder. What is the deal on the MF135 Orchard model what parts did they use for them? How can I find out what is inter-changable between the MF165 and the MF135 or are they?? Thanks, Mark H.

I think you may be talking about the 135 UK tractor. Would an orchard model not have longer spindles and taller wheels to clear possibly grape vines or such. The 135 UK model has several differences from the 135 American model. The UK uses a heavier front axle with no wishbone supports, P.S. with a assist cyl. on each side , similar to the one used in the industrial series 202 tractor. It also has the headlights in the grille, hood opens in two areas: the fueltank and rad cap; the battery box and gauge area. The tach runs anti-clockwise also and air cleaner stack through the hood. Also the front axle hubs have grease nipples outside as opposed to the American with a cast aluminum hub cap.The American has a cast front axle similar to the old Grey Ferguson TO-35. THe Uk mostly came with a 2x4 trans. as the American came with 2x3, 2x4, 2x3 + multi-power
I hope this helps. I own a 135 UK and love it!

I have a Massey Ferguson Sales Literature Booklet dated May 1973 that shows pictures and lists all the features of the MF135 Orchard Tractor. 3 cylinder Perkins Diesel or 4 cylinder Perkins Gas engines were optional, 8 speed dual range Transmission was only Transmission offered, power steering only, heavy duty Industrial Front axle. Heavy Duty Rear Axle with Disc Brakes. Front Tires 7.50 x 10, rear Tires 18.4 x 16.1, weight 2910. Hope this helps. I have a couple of these Booklets for sale if somebody would like one.

Willy, Are they similar to the mf 40 loader/backhoe. Ours sounds the same as your 135 orchard. Big Dean is the guru on industrial models. cheers.

Mark from the clutch back everything is interchangeble with the MF65 or MF165 however because of the smaller tires some of the transmission gearing were changed when interchanging. The front axles, castings and power steering mechanisims were interchangeable with the industrial MF202-3-4-5 and the MF2135 and MF20 the MF40 came a bit later and was almost the same except for the heavier front axle and hydrostatic steering. Tinwork(except fenders) and engines same as other 135's.I have been looking for an operators manual or other specific manuals for the Orchard Special but have yet to find any. Parts manual for the 135 covers the Orchard. Gary

Thanks that clears up the problem with me finding it looks like the MF165 in my manuals for working on it. Mark H.
