I have a 1957 or 58 TO35 MF tractor with the Standard 4 cyl diesel. Is it possible to replace this engine with the Perkins 3 cyl diesel?

Thanks for any advice.

I might be completely mistaken here but isn't the starter the other side? I've got an idea that the bell housing is different to accomodate this, so it is not a straight swap.

Scotty, I changed one over to a 3.152 perkins almost 3 decades ago. Engine bolts straight onto the gearbox. i assume yours is a 2 stage clutch, but you will need a front housing off a 3 cyl to bolt onto your engine and use the original front axles. There were a couple of fuel pipes may need to be modified{long time, grey cells gettin rusty} and bonnet fouled on fuel tank from memory. There is one getting converted in canada by william boss from memory who may give us an update on his maybe. cheers from way downunder for now.

I have the front axle housing with solid axle if you decide to change to the 3 cylinder Perkins. Mark H.
