Recently bot a Massey-Harris 101 W/F serial # 375764, 4 cyl Continental. Previous owner stated it was a 47 or 47 Junior. When I got home the manual he gave me was for a Senior. I looked at the serial numbers here and it looks like it could only be a Row Crop????? ????? Need help as amoung other things I need to get points and condenser? Thanks in advance.

No 101 Junior 4-cylinders in those years. They had already been replaced by the model 30 tractors in '46 I believe. My reference shows it to be a '39 row crop 101 Junior. I guess somebody could have changed it over. What size is the rear rubber? Is there a tin oval plate on theleft side, the serial number should be prefixed with some letters like JS (standard) or JR (rowcrop).

Rear tires are 12.4 X 36. Can barely read the 6 digit Ser number. Can't read whats in front. Do you know anywhere I can purchase side covers?

With 36"ears, it must have originally been a row crop. The standards had 28" rubber. I made my own sidepanels out of 22 gauge sheet metal. Very easy to make for the early ones where the curve was simple and there was only one sidecover per side and no latches (they bolted into place). Email me and I will send you a photo of the ones I made up and then I could help you along.

My book shows it to be a 1939 year (check with others, as it has been wrong in the past.) NAPA has parts for the ignition on the Continentals. (They may have to dig for the number, so take all the numbers you can find on the motor and dist.) Good luck.

4 cylinder makes it a JR. If it had a crysler 6 cylinder it would be a super and a 6 cylinder continetal makes it a SR.
