MF 35 Diesel - Continental engine

I've got a chance to buy a '63 MF 35 with a somewhat tired Continental 4cyl diesel engine. Most of the MF 35 I've seen have the Perkins 3 cyl diesel engine.

Is the Continental engine as good? It has the precombustion chamber, which someone said makes it harder to start.

Any advice, input, or opinions appreciated.

If its a 4 cyl Diesel in a 35 its, more likely a Standard Diesel If you search "standard diesel" in the Massey forum you will get plenty of hits.It seems to have a reputation as a hard starter in cold weather, parts are a little higher than the Perkins and it only has 3 main bearings
