Parts store should know what filter you need, but don't bet on it. You get a green counterman and you will have to hold their handto find it.

Marlowe thanks for the input. I pulled the top of the oil filter canister and there was no filter in it . That's not a good sign! Oh well the parts store should know what filter goes in it.

I just called napa and they came up with the same number. They have to order it. The tractor has been sitting under a tree on a potato farm for who knows how long. I'm going to pull of the valve cover and make sure the valve train is loose and change the oil and gas. Cross my fingers and crank it over and hope she fire's. Thanks for the input.

I am trying to find steering parts for a 444 with tri cycle front end. I have a parts diagram but it does not say what the part is called. It is a piece about 3 in. long and has threads on the out side and spline teeth in the inside. It is listed as part number 15. It goes into the steering box and it also has a small pin that goes through the side of it. If anyone has any ideal what this is called and where I might find one I would really appreciate it. I saw you were discussing a 444 and just was hoping maybe you or someone could give me some information on this. Thanks.
