Hello this site has helped me in the past on how to get the main gear unstuck on my MF 231 tractor .My question is :Is there some type of additive that can be added to my transmission oil to correct this sticking problem. Thanks Wade Jones

The additive is patience. Usually the gears sticking is due to forcing them into mesh before they stop spinning. The spinning action plus the clashing of trying to force them into mesh throws that one gear into either reverse or second,I think it is. Bid Dean's website has a detailed explanation and fix procedure.

Big Dean has mentioned several times that we tend to lift up on the shifter when changing gears, and that is the main cause. I am trying to remember to apply downward pressure, but I tend to forget. I got my MF35 stuck in gear last week.
Fortunately, with his instructions, I can unstick it in less time than it takes me to walk to the shop to get the tools and back to the tractor.
