I had to use another loader to lift it up but the mounts fit perfect! It sits on 10" X 1/2" Channel Steel bolted on with 4- 5/8" & 4-3/4" grade #8 Bolts to the Transmisson and Front Axle Housing. Still need to plumb it in and set up the bucket and spears for hay. Mark H.

Looks good! What did you use to hold the loader frame up while you mounted it?

Does your 135 have any mounting holes on the sides of the bell-housing? The MF loader manuals I have always showed the 165 to have the 4 holes underneath plus 2 more on each side specifically for mounting the belly-bracket, but mine has no side holes. So far the 4 below are holding fine.

I converted my bucket to full hydraulic this past year. If you're interested in pics let me know.

Jeff

My mounts were put on the tractor first. Then all I have to do is lift the loader up and set it on top of them and it stays there. Then you bolt the loader to the mounts. I welded brackets to the loader to mount it to the supports on the tractor. I also don't have the side mount holes. On the front mount since it takes most of the strain I used 3 1/3" 3/4" bolts to go thru the front 2 holes and put nuts on them just in case they wanted to pull thru. I can't get to the rear ones inside the axle housing with a wrench so I used full length bolts to use all the threads and some sticks out the end of the threaded hole. Post a picture of your bucket I would like to see it. That is my next project. Mark H.

Here's a pic of my bucket/bale forks cylinders & plumbing on the 701. I still have a drip @ one of my black iron pipe joints.

Thanks for the picture. That is what I have to do. I am replacing the Cross Section on my Loader Frame today with a new one. The old one had a Trip Bucket and a hole in the center for a pin. It was over loaded at one time and cracked by the pin hole so I am cutting out the complete member putting in a new section and welding on new gussets so it will be strong again. I will take a section of 5 inch box steel and cut out a 1/2" wide strip and squeeze it shut and re/weld it. That way the cross member will conform to the Taper of the Arms. Then I will put a Triangle Gussets on both sides(4-total)to keep the Frame Rigid. My original Cross Member was as thick as the side frames so I was going to make it the same dimentions. Then I can mount my Tilt Cylinder Brackets onto the Gussets for more strength. Mark

Sounds good. What you describe doing sounds better than original.

BTW here"s a pic of the original bucket after my uncle accidentally ran it into the ground in 2nd gear. I was so happy the bracket I welded for the top of the cylinder held!

Wow that sure tore that bucket up! Must have had good welds on those cylinders for sure! I got my cross member made today along with 4 gussets to replace the old set up. Took a long time to grind out the welds to remove the old one. My new cross brace is 5" X 4 1/2" X 3/16" box. The 4 new gussets are 3/16" X 14" X 10" taperd plate steel to fit the brace. I will beef up the tip ends also with more steel as it looks like the weak point on the lift. Once I have it in I will take a picture of it. Mark H.
