Yesterday after baling for 4 or 5 hours I noticed green transmission oil coming from the weep hole in the bottom of the bell housing-transmission casting, the hole with the cotterpin in it. There is a remote cylinder that I use to steer the bale thrower and while hooking up the baler, I inadvertantly pulled the steering lever with only one of the hydraulic lines connected. Could this have caused excess pressure in the connected line and blown a seal some place in the tractor? This dripping is something new and is a lot more than an occasional drip. Thankyou for any suggestions that you might have. John in Syracuse, NY

John....does your tractor have a "multipower" transmission and does your bale thrower work off remote supply from the regular hydraulic pump that is burried in the transmission? If you don't have multipower, the likely culprit is the transmission or pto input shaft seals. See if it leaks at idle without moving the tractor - this would point at the pto shaft. If it leaks when you drive the tractor and stops shortly after you start the tractor, it points to the inner driveshaft seal. Hope this helps. Kevin.
