Now that I have the complete axle assembley off I see the crank shaft end is not damaged. Are there 2 different pulleys for the crank shaft? The pulley that was on there did not have a key way but the crank shaft does. That is why there was a brass shim to take up the gap between the two. Glad the shim was brass! I thought I read somewhere that one had a taperd pulley and another had a keyed pulley? The serial Number on the engine is 152UA2222 which is out of a 1969 135 Orchard Massey Ferguson 152 Perkins Gas. Thanks, Mark H.

Hey Mark as far as I know all or the three cylinder Perkins gas & diesel engines used in the Massey Ferguson tractors at least up to 1982 used the same crankshaft & the same pulley the only difference I ever saw was some had to holes drill and taped for the front pump drive adapter plate some did not. but other than that they were the same. there are some three cylinder engine in other application that had a splined crankshaft and pulley I have seen them on welders and also there was an Allis-Chalmers tractor that used that engine in it.

I looked again at the pullye. It seems that it must have striped out the center of it? There is a little bit of a key way mark in it. The crank shaft must be a lot harded then the pulley or it was off another tractor because it is smooth and no marks but the pulley is trashed! It has 3 holes taped in the face side of it also.
