There's a rough-looking MF50 for sale locally. I thought it was a F40 'til I got close enough to see thru the rust.

Looks like it has live pto, power steering, dual-range gearbox, Continental Z-134?, & 12v conv.

Can you tell me any more about this model? Same tractor as the F40? If the 50 has the Z-134, what was in the 35?

This may be my next project if the price is right. What would you pay for a rough-looking, but everything working 50 in your area? I'm north of Dallas.

Jeff

The followup's tell the story. Great tractor, hard working, heavy comparied to the MF35. I have both. Due to the heavy frontend make sure power steering works. Mine has a bucket and no power. Takes a lot out of you to operate. If you don't want it let us know. I am sure I could use another one....

Jeff I have a 1957 MH50 that I bought in 1988 for $2500 and I don't think they have gone down any in price. I have used this tractor many hours with a bushhog and overhauled it about 10 yrs ago. The 35 and the 50 share the same engine. The 50 has a heavier frontend but basically the rest of the tractor is the same as the 35. I am the 2nd owner of this 50 and it has always been shedded, still has the orginal paint and has power steering. The tractor looked pretty good until 4 yrs ago, I turned it over and bent some sheetmetal. The 50 has always been ready to work and I think it will be around here for a long time to come. Good luck with that 50 if you get it. Tom. BTW I am in Southeast Mo.

F-40, MH-50 and MF-50 essentially the same except for styling touches, paint schemes and decals. They share the power train (and horsepower ratings) of the MF-35.
