Hi There;
I have heard over the grapevine that the Massey Ferguson MF3090 4x4 Cab tractor were inherently problematic - transmission, autotronic, electrics etc.
I was wondering if anyone out there could give me a list of the common problems that are associated with this tractor it would be appreciated. I hear there are a few.
Cheers

French built 3000 series tractors were and still are a nightmare to work on because everything is controlled by ECU's. The wiring or the boxes themselves become troublesome, but it's identifying the problem that's the hardest bit. There is a company here in the UK who can recondition the boxes. The drivers always say that they are a superb tractor to drive, it's the repair bills they object to... I think it's the Autotronic gearbox system which gives the most trouble, typical problems include sticking in low range, lights staying on and draining battery etc. The diagnostic computer for this is a dedicated unit, very expensive but dealers should have one.
