I have a neighbor with an MF 65 that he thinks is of 1959-1960 vintage. How much HP does this tractor have?

Thanks,

Paul

Sounds like the clutch disc is rusted to the pressure plate. If it is on your 44 remove the inspection cover on the bellhousing and push the clutch in and see if you can pry or tap the disc loose from the plate. There may be enough room to get a decent size screwdriver to contact the disc at the cresent shaped openings between the bolts that hold the pressure plate cover to the flywheel, It's been a while since I looked at one so this advice may be a long shot. Otherwise you will have to un-bolt the clutch shaft (or undo the chain) and loosed every thing to lift and move the engine forward, probably have to remove radiator, un-pin the clutch rod too. Take the bellhousing off and remove the clutch and free it!

Consider it a 3 plow tractor. We had a 65 diesel when I was young and used it to pull three-16" Moline plow. We replaced it in 1974 with a JD 2630. That tractor, however, was one of the best tractors we ever had. The only problem that I can recall is that it occasionally locked in between gears.
