On the Perkins 153 Gas the pulley is loose on the crank shaft and spins free on it. The nut and washer seem to be tight on the crank but not sure yet haven't pulled the axle to get a socket on it yet. What hold the outer pulley to the part under the nut on the end of the crank is it 2 peice or one solid pulley and center?? Thanks, Mark H.

Hi Mark The pulley is one solid piece. There is a square key that keeps the pulley from spinning on the crankshaft. What is on the end of the crankshaft is a spacer the timing gear an oil slinger and the pulley. The end of the crankshaft has a female thread in it and has a bolt and a thick washer that holes everything in place. Hope this helps

Thanks, looks like mayby the pulley broke loose from the keyed hub then? Going to have to pull the front axle to access the Crank Bolt to remove it and see what happen and caused it to free wheel. I can feel with my fingers that the part under the bolt & washer is not spinning and only the outside belt part is loose. Hope a new pulley assembley is not to expencive to buy if it is broke loose which I think it is!! Mark H.
