I lost Big Deans email and i need some help with my MH-50 tractor. First of all i want to thank big dean and everyone else that has replied to my earlier post. I do have a manuel but without this site i would be still scratching my head on a few things. Anyway, Now i have another problem. When i bought this tractor it wasnt running so i didnt have a clue to if the hydraulics worked so i cleaned it out with diesal and after the motor rebuild i cranked her up to only find that the lift wont go up. When i push the lever up to lift it barely goes up and it goes up with small jumpy movements and if i stand on the lift it wont go up at all. I looked through the side cover and while it is running i took a screw driver and pushed the control valve and it doesnt make any differance. But i did notice that if i pushed the control valve all the way it would stop trying to lift and the arms will fall. Does anyone know a method of checking so i could get an idea if it is just a valve or does it need rebuilt. Also it has fresh hydraulic oil and new lift piston and rings. Any idea? THX>

Hi Nitro First off does it have a two stage clutch if it does put the pto in gear and try to raise it while standing on the lift arms to see if the pto stops turning. If it does the pto clutch is your problem. Next remove the transfer cap and standpipe and check the O-rings on the standpipe if they are good put the standpipe and transfer cap back. Next remove the access plate on the right side you will see the pump control lever it is the two levers sticking up with the roller between them. Check that both the vertical levers that hang down from the top are in front of that roller. With the draft and position both in the full up position move the pump control levers with the roller in them toward the back of the tractor. If that makes the lift come up it is in the liftcover linkage or the nut that holds the pump control lever onto the pump may need to be adjusted in some. If moving the pump control lever toward the rear does not make the lift arms raise look for oil running down from the top. if not look for heavy turbulence around the right rear corner of the pump that would be the relief valve. If none of this is your problem then it is in the pump someplace. If I can be of further help email me.
