I bought a 1969 Massey 135 UK Orchard with the 165 trans & rear end, disk brakes, 152 gas perkins, heavy duty front with axle twin hydraulic steering cylinders ect. This tractor is the same as my 69 Orchard 135 I have allready and was thinking of parts for the future. Since it is a running tractor I know everything works on it. I won"t need to keep the whole tractor but what parts would be good to keep as spares that are hard to get? I am afraid something might break on my working tractor that will cost me big bucks or be hard to find later. I know I don"t realy need the whole tractor and would like to re/coup some of the cost of buying it. I have 9800 hours on my working one now and know something might be getting ready to go. I am going to rebuild the engine in it next week cause winter is coming and I have had problems with the transmission a couple times in the past locking up so I figured I should save the complete rear haft of the tractor to swap out if needed. What other parts are likely to break on it someday and I know anything can break but nothing hasen"t in 3 years of owning it just prepairing for the future! Mark H.

Mark...so far as I know every part is available either via dealer or aftermarket. You could clean it up and sell it to some one who knows what they are getting and can appreciate it. I did not know there was a UK version of the Orchard Special. Maybe you could post a couple of pictures. I own a late model diesel Orchard Special with 8 speed and square axles engine has been rebuilt but the tin work is pretty tough. Slowly getting all the parts. Would like to find factory auxillary hydraulics(internal pump)before it gets painted.

I got it home and washed it not a bad tractor! I think I will rebuild mine first incase I bust something in the process doing it befor I do anything with the new 135 Orchard. Both have the 3 speeds & reverse with High and Low Range so I guess you could call them 8 speeds? I have a picture in the Gallery under 135 Orchard Mark Hendershot. Same one as this picture. Both tractors as the same. If all works out right on the rebuild I might just sell this one cause I did find some sites that sold all the parts I might need but WOW are they Expencive to buy!! Mark...that looks just like the US built tractor. What makes it a UK model? I think 8 speed is total 8 forward gears plus 2 reverse. What parts were you price shopping? I think all tin work is the same as other 135's. Mine now has 16.9x24 inch tires with cast centersI am going to get the flat top fenders. I am also looking for the cast sway bar brackets to go under the cast fender brackets. Unfortunately they are different on the square axles than on the round axles.

I was told once on this site they were made in the UK? Yes my bracket I am allmost sure are cast for the sway bars. Just washed mine off and drove it in the shop tonight. The only problem with the other tractor is a loose front pulley on the crank shaft. Mark H.
