Have a 1975 MF 1135 with the multipower tranny. Early this spring before planting I split the tractor and replaced the friction discs and the main gear that the discs run on.....found that the teeth on the friction discs were wore almost all off and the gear that they work on had grooves wore on it from the discs.....normal 7,000hr wear I guess!!! Worked fine for about the first 50hrs of rotary hoeing but then I put it on my 750 JD no-till drill and it started slipping bad again.....to the point where it won't even pull itself down the road in hi range now. Notice that when the oil is cold it will kinda work but not great. I'm thinking that it is possibly the charging pump under the cab on the top of the tranny or the priority valve just in front of the firewall???.....any other thoughts..... similar instances.....possible troubleshooting procedures???? Any help would be appreciated....really don't want to split it again!!!!

Also.....no oil leaks under the belly where the multipower clutch pack sits.....so no internal leaks??? Thanks

dont forget about the multipower valve on the dash, mine was slipping in and out & it turned
out to be a bad hydraulic valve.

If it slipped very long you will need to put discs, plates &springs in it. Did you replace all of the sealing rings the first time? The two rings on the hub of the clutch housing are very important. You will not get any external oil leaks if they are bad. It is all internal.

The only thing I replaced was the clutch discs, the gear that the clutch discs work on when you engage the multipower into hi range, and the gasket that goes on the front cover of the multipower cluch pack. Did not replace any o rings, oil seals, or other gaskets..... just popped the front cover off and seen the teeth on the discs were all wore off and the gear was shot..... replaced all that and slapped it back together..... .nothing else looked bad or was leaking..... ..talked to my massey dealer and he told me to plumb a gauge off the multipower valve inside the console and see if I was getting enough hydraulic pressure to the clutch pack.....haven't done that yet. So what should I have replaced inside the multipower assembly?..... .I've pretty much convinced myself that I'll have to split it again..... .oh boy!!!! Thanks Greg
