I was just wondering what kind of work was a 44 standard most likely doing on a farm back in the 1950's? If it helps tell mine doesnt have the big fenders, my fender are smaller like the rc fenders, it doesnt have hydraulics, has a belt pully, at one point i believe it had lights as a switch was still in the dash. I was just curiouse what it was most likely used for. Thanks

The 1947 44-6 Dad owned was used for about every chore imaginable, from plowing to pulling a pull type combine and everything between. Some people even put a vacuum valve in the manifold and used their tractors to operate milkers when the electric power went out.Saved a lot of milking by hand. The 44-6 was our big tractor and we had a Farmall Regular as a second tractor. We 3 boys always fought over who got to drive the 44-6.Sometimes it came down to who got out of bed and ran to the barn first in the morning.I drove the old Regular a lot.LOL,bob

In southern Ontario the 44 would have been used to power a Threshing Machine in the fall of the year.
Some were used by custom threshers who went from farm to farm. It could have been used to power a Saw Mill or do farm work were a larger tractor was needed.
