Just sat through another Tractor show on TV, still don't get why there are little to no Massey Fergusons at these places. I have been to 3 shows in the last 2 months and have seen maybe 3 MF's, a few more MH's. Maybe it is just me but there seems to be a lack of interest in the MF's. I have other colors too, but I realy enjoy my 59 MF65. I have come to the conclusion that they are not "old enough" yet to be of interest. I am not a "collector" by any means, cause I still work my tractors. I was talking with a gentleman who had a real nice TO30 at the last show and he said he was just covered up by people with questions all day cause he had the only one out there. I quess I will get the ole 65 all cleaned up and take it to some shows and try and get a MF revolution started.

Sorry you missed the Plain City Ohio show last wee in reply to Craig W., 07-23-2005 06:10:12
Craig,

The International Massey Ferguson tractor show was in Plain City, Ohio on July 14-17. There were over 200 MH, F and MF tractors. They had a line up of every Ferguson tractor type produced in North America. I had my TE-20 there and there was a stunning line up of the big MF's Super 90, 97's, 98's etc.

If interested the Ferguson show is Aug 5-7th in Jordan Minnesota (Minneapolis area).

Jeff

Most Massey's I know of are still earning a living, including our 165 and 285. The 165 has a loader on it and the 285 does almost all of our haying operation, as well as hauling the manure. Used to do the plowing and chopping, but now we have an 1855 Ollie as our workhorse. We must have the right red and green, cause they've always gotten along in the shed just fine, and they are always willing to pick up each other's work load.

I'd hate to see a JD and and IH go at it in the shed.....

Craig:

I agree. I grew up watching the amount of work that my uncle's 50 accomplished, and was amazed at the flexibility of that tractor. My family got out of farming, but I kept a small piece of the old farm and was eventually motivated to buy my 135 because of the memories I had of the 50. They're excellent tractors, and I also believe they will someday be more widely acclaimed at these shows. I know I would love to have a 50 like the one I remember from my childhood.
