I have a MF1020 hydro series 2962. I have no idea what year it is.. 80's, 90's.. has 600 hours on it. It's my 1st tractor.
Initially after it sitting for a week or so, the clutch was stuck enganged. Wife forgot to lock the clutch in the disengaged location. Go that fixed by using some of the techniques I read on here.
Next problem that happened was after I start it up, it would take a few minutes of cycling the forward/revrse pedal before it would actualy start to move. After awhile, you could drive it along and use it normally. The hydro unit would make some 'hydraulic' noises (if that makes sense) during the 'warmup' period it took to get the thing moving more than a few inches. I am assuming that problem still exists. I pulled the dipstick on the top of the trans (in front of the seat) and the fluid level looks good.
Now the propblem is the clutch seems to be either stuck disenged/broken or the hydro unit is not transferring any power at all. The front loader and rear 3 point all work fine. Pressing on the forward/revrse pedal, I hear absolutely nothing.
Movign the clutch pedal does nothing. I can put it in any gear or engage the PTO and nothign happens.
Broken clutch? Bad hydro drive?
I see alot of people talk about "splitting the tractor".. from the looks of it, doesn't seem like a fun/easy thing to do. Would have been nice if there was an imspection cover on this thing so I could peek inside. I have no problem tearing it apart, just not sure what is involved.
Any tips/tricks or even bad news is appreciated. I don't know what my next step is.
Thanks
