Just picked up a set of fenders for my naked 44. Im going to repaint them but need to do some bodywork before I do. My question is, is there supposed to be a hole on the very top of both fenders where the vertical support stops? The holes look nice and clean like factory and theyre both in the same location. Thanks!

The hole was drilled for a heat houser and was not in the original fender.

Place a penny or some other flat copper behind the hole and weld the hole shut with a wire feed welder. The weld won't stick to the copper.

Thanks a bunch. I heard that penny/copper trick before. They even sell a tool...like a vice grip to do that. Never tried it though. a penny would be alot cheaper though. Thanks msb!!
