Hi all I placed a picture and a paragraph in the Help Identify section of this website but it appears not to get much traffic there. Can anyone of you please take a look at this tractor and help identify it. I was told it's a Ferguson but looks exactly like a Massey Harris 33. Though the owner tells me it is stamped Ferguson on the grill.
Please help!!

Thyank you....

Hello I was wondering if anyboday knows the color of paint used in the early Massey engines. Like the MH50. I know its a bronze color, but didn't know the name of it. If you please let me know. Thanks

Did you find any casting or serial numbers yet?Hard to tell from your pictures. It could be a model 30,33 or 44.From the looks of the rear tire width,I am guessing its a 30 or 33.Look on top of the transmission case like I said.

I don't think it's a 44 since the 44's fender/hood is allot harrower on the top than the 33' or 44'. I do agree it's either a 30 or 33. I guess they only made the 30's for a couple of years than chenged the name to 33 if I'm not mistaken. But we can all agree that it is NOT a furgy than? Now with that in mind, can a 3 point itch be added onto this?

Thanks again...

Dar I"m looking at the big Book of Massey Tractors. If I am seeing in your photo an alternator on the left side (I see a gray thing) it is a MH30. The 30 had a 162ci flat head continental engine. The Hyd pump would be on the right in front of the front engine cover, right in front of the govenor. They were made 1946-1953. If the alt/gen is on the right and it is a overhead valve engine, it would be a 33. The hyd pump would be on the left behind the oil filler casting(don"t know the proper name for it) The 33 was made 1952-1955 and had a 201ci continental engine made only for MH. 3pt was an option on the 33

Onefarmer, thanks for your help! It is a MH30, won't know the year till I go and actually see the numbers on it. I have another question I hope you can answer. Are the rear wheels adjustable? I have a 74 inch trailer width and my friends father says the wheels are 79 inches wide (side to side). From the pictures I have it looks as though they can be moved in a few inches on each side. Just want to make sure that this model can and what tools I would have to bring with me to do it.

Thanks again.....

Haven't worked on one myself but I'm starting to get into it. Inherited 5 MH's from my father including a 30 but haven't even pulled it out to look at it close. Should be close to the same set up as a 44 (another one of the 5) we used as I was growing up.looks like from the pic it is. I see a shaft sticking out from the rear hub. It is a simple clamp type hub. Im not sure of the wrench size but there should be four bolts that you will need to loosen to loosen the clamp then it is a matter of will the hub be loose enough to slide on the axle. Looks like you should be able to slide the wheels in several inches if that loader will allow it. .... Took a few moments to go get a few picts of my 30s hub. Posting one here. There will be more in Help ID. The bolts look like 1 1/16 wrench but could be from 15/16 to 1 1/8. Better take some pb blaster, some oil and a good jack. If you would like I could post a pic of a MH version of a 3pt. It would be on a 22 but close to the same set up.

Wow, thanks onefarmer! I really appreciate you going out of your way like that. Also, if you still can please post the 3 point hitch so I can see what and how I'll need to install that once I find a 3 point hitch to install.
My wife and I bought 45 acres in Decatur, MI so I'm going to Wisconsin to pick this tractor up and hauling it back out to Decatur,MI. I just it need in to help make food plots and grow field grass rather than the garbage growing there now. Also, I want to plant a couple of thousand trees. Though the Michigan DNR told me that they have stopped selling trees 14 years ago. Seeing you are from Michigan, where would I be able to get pines and others to start a forest?
Anyway, thank you again for your help!
