I am looking at a MF50 for sale that doesnt have power steering. Can it be easily added? I know it was available on these tractors so is there anything else involved other than getting the parts from a boneyard? I just want to make sure there are no differences in any major castings or engine block or something.

ThanksDan

Thanks for the responses. I havent had a chance to test it out yet..Its a couple hours from me. I'm not going to let the lack of power steering keep me away, I just wonderd what options I would have. This tractor doesn't/won't have a loader.

Dan You really dont need power steering unless you have a loader. Ive replaced the power steering pump on mine, not an esay job for a rookie like me. Lou

My MF50 does not have power steering and it is not bad to steer. Bone yards have quoted me $600 for a complete system off an old MF50.

My guess is that it would be a pain and a goodly bit of $$'s to do. My MF50 has power steering and it is very nice - but, having used a manual steering tractor in the past, my guess is that a MF50 manual steering wouldn't be to bad. Try it, you might like it.
