What is the largest pull type bushhog (that uses the remote hydraulics) you can use with a 165?

I am looking at a 10 1/2' Woods but don't want to get something that tears up my tractor.

Any suggestions?

I pull a 7ft pull type Deere 709 with my 255 (52hp). It flies through shorter grass and thin stuff. I also cut some 4-5ft tall waterways and between fields when they get out of control-and 7ft is all it can take.

I replaced the blades this year and what a difference! So much easier now. So if you are going to try and pull a 10ft through anything more than basic pasture I would sure make sure it is sharp.

TG Is your 165 gas or diesel? What are you going to use the brush hog for? Lou

I think it would do O.K. as long as you didn't tie into anything TOO tough.

If an MF35 will handle a 5' bush hog at 30 HP, why wouldn't an MF165 handle a 10' one with roughly 60 HP?

I really don't think a 165 is worth a crap on a bush hog we put a 6' on one and the tractor really did not handle it very well at all IMO 165's were good for raking and pulling racks around the field collecting bales not a real good work horse.

Mine came w/ a 8' Mohawk, that's about max for any heavy cutting. I use the 6' Hawse more often, easier to work in tight spaces.
