Just got a Massey-Harris 101 Junior and I'm concerned about running too much. Run it for about 15 mins. and engine appears to run very, very hot. Not over-heated but afraid to run it longer. No shrouds on sides. Would orginals have louvers to allow more air in? Any way to check the water pump? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Could have a hot thermostat in it or maybe the thermostat is seized up shut and won't let any coolant into the radiator. Take off the rubber hose between the top of the radiator and the top front of the cylinder head, then remove the casting that bolts to the top of the cylinder head. The thermostat is in that housing in the casting. It is held in by a split steel collar that you will probably have to pry out. Remove the thermostat and hook everything up without it and see what happens. This is assuming that there is already a thermostat in there. Let us know how you make out.
