1130 hot starting

I have a Massey 1130 diesel...runs like a big dog, but shut it off hot and it won't start until it cools off? Cranks over great, just won't hit a lick? Once cooled off...fires right up!

Any suggestion appreciated :)

Sounds to me like the metering valve in the injection pump is sticking. I would try a couple of quarts of Dexron atf in the fuel to help lube it. The next time you get ready to shut the engine off kill it with the brakes instead of the shut off cable. If it will start hot then its the metering valve.

Try pouring cold water on the injector pump when it is hot. Then try starting it
