I own a pretty nice MF 50 I got at a good deal. It has a loader plumbed into the rear hydraulics, and I don't like the hydraulic setup at all, although the loader itself is in great shape. I'm exploring the idea of installing a hydraulic front pump, so I have good reliable power for that front loader. I know I need a pump, where do I find one and how much??? Aside from that, what else do I need? and what would I do for a resevoir? I've heard of people plumbing the pump to the transmission oil. What's the best way. Thanks in advance..... .....Matt

Putting a pump on the front can get complacated. We bought a 150 that has a front pump. This is how they did it,
Look for the drain plug under the transmission.
Replace the plug with a pipe T and bushing. this is were the feed hose connects. will need to get a pump mounting bracket fom a dealer/loader supplier. need to get a ccw pump, around 1.5 cu in /rev to fit bracket. See surpluscenter.com
need a shaft adapter for the crank pully. have a shaft and u joints made up. dealer maybe can supply these. Mount a valve bank within easy reach. see Surpluscenter.com again.
drill the fill plug and tap it for the return hose.

Matt, Take a good close look at your loader. Many loaders have a resevoir built into them by blocking off some of the structural tubing. If yours is one of this type, you will have a fill and a drain fitting tapped into the upper and lower portions of the loader. The fittings will have either square or hex heads, maybe 3/4" in size. If you have a brand and model for your loader, someone may be able to give you more information. Good luck, Jim

"Greener Minneapolis" I think is what reads there by the controls. It doesn't appear to have a resevoir built into the tank. Nobody seems to have too many ideas on this, I hate to not have a loader, but I might as well sell it. Thanks anyway.
