I'm in the process of going through the 65 rebiulding the motor and going through eveything else while the tractor is split.
In going through the shop and parts manuals there is a hyd. pump listed for the 65's and early 165's then a later 165 pump with .98" pistons instead of the .91" can this pump be used, to up the flow and volume of the 65 hyd.?

The pump with the 0.98 pistons will work in am MF65 in place of pump that has the 0.091 piston. If I remember right you can install just the pistons and valve chambers for the 0.98 pistons in place of the 0.91 piston of your pump.

Big Dean, Can I get these parts in the Hyd. pump rebiuld kits?
Is there any other areas I should check while I got everything apart, the multipower works but leaks, What should I do there?

I done a little research to be sure the kit number 555602 that yesterdays tractors sells for the MF165 with the 0.98 piston and valve chamber will work in your pump I found that the pump for them has the same cam blocks and camshaft as yours has this means you can install that kit in your pump. I though I had done that before but wanted to be sure. If I was going to install a new kit I would also install a new pump control valve and a new relief valve while I was doing it that will make your pump like new. The multipower leak you speak of I am sure is the front transmission input shaft and PTO input shaft seals leaking. The tractor has to be split between the engine and transmission to make those repair. The steel sealing that are on those two shafts may have wore grooves in the parts they run in if the grooves are deep enough the steel sealing rings will not seal causing the rubber lip input shaft seals to leak. the lip seals are not designed to hold the pressure that it takes to shift the multipower in to high range. If I can be of further help you can email me at [email protected]

Would I get the pump control valve and the relief valve from a 165 or for the 65

Big dean, I'm splitting the tractor tomorrow, I was going to replace the dual clutches, I've had the PTO slip when it loads up,when I'm heavy brush hogging. so I would like to take care of the Multipower if I can.

Get the relief valve for the MF165 but the control valve will have to be the one for the MF65 the control valve for the MF165 will not work in the MF65 pump.
