I lent my MF2500 fork lift to someone that didn't know what they were doing! They towed it in low gear for approx. 10 miles. It goes into foward after coaxing it for a few minutes. Once the tractor is in motion--it runs fine. The reverse seems to be a little less effective. It takes alot more coaxing and is very weak. I use this tractor everyday in my masonry business and can't do without. Please offer some advice. Where should I start? I just ordered a manual.

Re: Re: MF 135, 1974, Perkins engine crankshaft thrust bearing in reply to Jack in NB, 04-27-2000 13:14:20
Hi, Jack
The tractor is used with a 90" finish mower. I operate the tractor. I don't think I ride the clutch, but the clutch is hard to push in. (disengage) I thought this might be a factor. I had the motor completely rebuilt in the summer of 1998, I found the crankshaft had excessive end play in the summer of 1999, I had the thrust bearing repaired, now the start of 2000 the thrust bearing is out again.
