Does anyone know where I can get a ROPS for a 1974 MF 135?

I couldn't find one but did find a picture of one in an old mf brochure. I copied it, using 3" X 6" X 1/4" wall rectangular tube and 3/4" plate for the axle mount plates. Way overbuilt (weighs 250 lb)but along with retrofitted seatbelt, great piece of mind. Also allowed me to install a roof. Email me yousr address ([email protected])and I will send you dwgs. and photos. Cheers Kevin.

rops cab from MF 255 fits 135 & 65. The one I have on my 65 came off 135, but says 255 on it.

Try either a AGCO/Massey Dealership or a Tractor Junk Yard. The part number(s) for the ROPS, Brackets, and Canopy are in the back few pages of the parts book. I don't know where you live, but if you are near Bluffton, OH (up by Lima) I'd try Anderson Tractor Supply at 419-358-8846. It might be helpful to have your tractor SN handy too. (I've got a '74 Deluxe Gasser) I hope this helps some. Anderson does have a website, but the URL escapes me right now. Good luck, and post back if you manage to get one and where. I need one myself.

Thanks for the info. My parts book must be for an older tractor because it does not list one. I also called a MF dealer in Maryland and they did not carry one or even show that one was available.

I find that somewhat odd that they did not include that in your parts book. It should be under Accessories - "Specific for the State of Missouri" on pages 420-21 in the parts manual.

It says for the ROPS aka 'Safety Frame', to order whole goods code 1538 110

For the mounting brackets aka 'mounting kit' it says to order whole goods code 1538 703

It also lists another mounting kit - 1538 723 as well. I don't know the difference off hand so I apologize.

The seat belt kit is 1538 708 that is for the whole assembly.

Armed with these parts numbers and your parts book, I would go back there to that dealership and check and see if you can't get a ROPS from AGCO/Massey-Ferguson. If not, as I was writing this post, a thought came to mind - John Deere in the late Sixties and early-Seventies gave away its patent for its ROPS. Now, I understand that you live in Maryland, but there is an Ag Equipment Auction (Tri-Green) in London, OH that I pass when I go back to college from coming home on I-70 that has some Green and Yellow (they might be Deere they might be repaints as well) They possibly could work. I still recommend getting in touch with Anderson's Tractor Company up in Bluffton, OH. I am going up there this week to get rims and some sheet metal for my 135, so I am going to look for myself too. They have a website and here is the URL:>Link

If>Link you want me to scan the pages out of my parts book, let me know and I will be most happy to do so.

My parts book is dated 7/68 and only goes to page 335. I did call Anderson and after checking they did not have one. They did tell me that the ROPS for the 165 or 175 should also fit. They were very helpful. I guess I should post a ROPS wanted in this site's classifieds. Thanks for your help.
