I changed the fuel filter on my (new to me) MF230 (perkins diesel) and went to bleed the fuel lines, and despite what my manual shows, there is no priming lever on the pump (it hasn't been broken off either!). How do I air bleed the system?

Fuel will flow (by gravity) out the top of the fuel filter, but how do I bleed the injectors? Should I just crank the engine over? Thanks.

You shouldn't have to bleed the injector pump if you only did the fuel filters. I just did our 1855 Ollie this weekend and it cranked right up after bleeding the filter.

your a lucky fella then! You often end up having to bleed the injector pump, and crack open one or even two injector lines even if you only have been changing the filters, especially with a "ferkin Perkins"

That may just be. I've never changed the filters on our 285 myself, and it's been a while since my dad has. Looking at doing that w/ the next oil change, as it just roled 6000 hrs. this weekend and it's been probably over 1000 hrs since it's been done. Our 1855 only ran 100 hrs on a new filter(bought it last year and changed all the filters right away) I guess you never know what was in the tank w/ the tractor.

IF the fuel filter is bleed crack bleed screws on inj pump let air come out tighten them then crack inj lines loose 1/4 turn roll engine around until fuel squirts tighten back up and go
