Hi...just completed a nearly complete restoration of our farms 135 diesel. Replaced the transmission input shaft"s (pto and driveline) bearings and seals. Shafts looked a little worn where seals seated but it wasn"t leaking so I re-used the shafts. With the new seals and 25 hours on the tractor since rebuild, they are now leaking. It looks like about a quart every 50 -75 hours! The oil comes out the drain hole in the low point of the clutch bell housing just behind the inspection plate. The low "sump" in the casting and drain hole tell me that the MF engineers catered to the possablility of transmission oil leaks when they designed it. My question is, will this oil contaminate the clutch discs or did the design cater to that as well. I can"t bear the thought of re-splitting the tractor for this. Thanks again, Kevin.

Hi Kevin Is there a possibility that the oil is engine oil? The rear pan gaskets are real bad about leaking after they get a little age on them. They dry out and shrank causing them to leak. Second if it is tramsmission oil do you have a Multipower transmission?

Hi Big Dean...No it's definately hydraulic oil by smell and viscosity. (Case Hytrans...very aromatic) Also, changed rear main seal and pan gaskets. Transmission is the plain 6 speed without multipower. Any thoughts greatly appreciated. I'd love somebody to say "yeah mine's done that for years, no worries" but I have a bad feeling about this. The tractor has a loader, rollbar, roof, and it will be days work to split. In addition, this isg our busy time. Thanks again, Kevin.
