Has anyone experienced a problem with the crankshaft thrust bearing going out on this tractor. I have lost the thrust bearing twice in a very few hours of run time. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks..jj

The diesel Perkins will take out thrust bearings if the clutch free play is too tight, or the operator keeps a foot on the clutch pedal.

Keeps forward pressure on the thrust bearing.

Is this a possibility?

Hi, Jack
The tractor is used with a 90" finish mower. I operate the tractor. I don't think I ride the clutch, but the clutch is hard to push in. (disengage) I thought this might be a factor. I had the motor completely rebuilt in the summer of 1998, I found the crankshaft had excessive end play in the summer of 1999, I had the thrust bearing repaired, now the start of 2000 the thrust bearing is out again.
